The Return Of The Rusty P’s

rusty-psThis week we welcome one of Milwaukee’s most beloved Hip Hop outfits back to 414 Music. Tune in this Friday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 and catch up with The Rusty P’s. We’ll hear some old favorites and discuss their new album that is currently in the works.

Tune into 414 Music this Friday at 5:30pm, we will have the Paul Spencer Band live in our studios. The Paul Spencer Band is a Milwaukee jazz band that plays everything from Latin, Be-Bop, Blues, and Dixieland jazz.  They have said their sound is like Jimi Hendrix played to swing.  You can find their music at CD Baby.

Tune is this Friday, June 5th at 5:30pm on RadioMilwaukee for 414 Music with Scott Mullins. We will have The Bryan Cherry Band live in our studios. Standing at the junction where Soul, Pop, and Rock N’ Roll meet is Bryan Cherry, a band that stretches musical boundries all while sounding unmistakably familiar. Consistently dancing over the lines of genre classification, touching on elements of blues-rock, folk & soul, Bryan Cherry’s product exhibits nothing more than a love for music deeply rooted within each member.

John Sieger

Tune in this Friday at 5:30pm for 414 Music. Dirty Soul Scott Mullins will have John Sieger live in our studios.

John Sieger is singer/songwriter in an earlier sense of the word. In other words, before there were singer/songwriters (read James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and less talented adherents baring their souls and exposing their diaries to the cruel light of day), there were acts such as Chuck Berry, Smoky Robinson, Buddy Holly and The Beatles singing songs they wrote. Please, if you don’t mind, lump him in with that group of artists who see value in entertainment and think Saturday nights should release a little of the week’s built up tensions. John would prefer to be paying an electric guitar (Strat or Dano) when all of this happens, but has been known to hoist an old Gibson Southern Jumbo or Country Western model and perform solo.

Catch John Sieger May 31st at Shank Hall.

Tune in this Friday at 5:30pm for 414 Music, where DJ Scott Mullins will have the band Stealin’ Strings live in our studios.

Taking its favorite aspects of bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll and tossing them together into a tasty dish of acoustic-electric vibrations, Stealin’ Strings is storming across the Midwest and beyond, dousing fans with its Bluegressive Rock.

Tune into RadioMilwaukee this Friday at 5:30pm for 414 Music where our guest will the soulful sounds of Milwaukee’s Hound’s Tooth.

Hounds Tooth, showcasing the dynamic and soulful voice of Miss Jamie Brace, has stormed onto the local scene with their high-energy show of Soul Rockin’ Blues. Miss Jamie captivates an audience as she caresses them intimately with a soulful ballad and then takes them over the edge as she kicks it into high gear with a blues-rock anthem.

With a set list rich in classic soul tunes, powerful blues-rock numbers, up-tempo danceable songs, and original music, Hounds Tooth’s Soul Rockin’ Blues appeals to a wide range of audiences.

Fronted by Jamie Brace, the Hounds Tooth sound is defined by Jamie’s passionate and soul stirring vocals. The dual guitar approach of Hounds Tooth combines the classic stinging blues guitar of J.D. Optekar along with the rockin’ riffs of Mike Kay. The backbone of the band includes the solid bottom end of bass player Chris Peck and the powerful and funky beats of Jeff Oscarson’s drumming.

Tune in this Friday at 5:30 for 414 Music, Scott Mullins will have MC and Producer Haz Solo live in our studios. He is one of Milwaukee’s most promising Hip Hop artists. He was also one of 8 finalist for the Miltown Beatdown a few weeks back. He will also be performing live at Stonefly Saturday, May 3rd with friends. If you want to know more about him check out “10 Things You Should Know about Haz Solo from MKE Online.

Tune in to this Friday’s 414 Music at 5:30pm, DJ Scott Mullins will have Jason Seed live in our studio. He is a 2008 Independent Music Award Finalist(IMA). He is going to be accompanied by a viola, violin, cello, upright bass and he’ll be playing guitar.

Seed combines everything from jazz, funk and rock to samba and classical in a highly unclassifiable and danceable psychedelic stew…Seed, at times, is largely reminiscent of Frank Zappa, with off-the-wall and obscurely humorous lyrics segueing into guitar wizardry.”

Todd Lazarski, Milwaukee Shepherd Express.

Catch him at Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center as part of Present Music – Danceworks on April 25th and April 26th.
